Aanwezigheid Mindfulness B.V.
Bringing present moment awareness to life in the Netherlands through accessible mindfulness training and meditation practices
Waarom we hier zijn
We’re building a community where mindfulness isn’t something exotic — it’s a practical tool for everyday living
We’ve watched people struggle with constant distractions, stress, and the feeling that life’s happening too fast to actually experience it. In 2009, we started Aanwezigheid Mindfulness B.V. because we believed there had to be a better way. Our mission is simple: help people in the Netherlands rediscover what it means to be present. Not through complicated philosophy or spiritual pressure. Just honest, grounded mindfulness that works for real life — whether you’re sitting on a train, managing work stress, or trying to be more engaged with your family.
Present moment awareness isn’t a luxury — it’s foundational to wellbeing. We’ve seen what changes when people genuinely slow down and pay attention. Better sleep. Clearer thinking. Deeper relationships. More resilience when things get tough. That’s what we’re here to facilitate.
What We’re Built On
Three pillars guide everything we do. They’re not just words on a wall — they shape how we teach, who we work with, and what we measure
Authenticity
We don’t dress up mindfulness in unnecessary mysticism. You’ll get practical, honest instruction grounded in both tradition and modern neuroscience. No pretense.
Accessibility
Meditation isn’t reserved for monks in monasteries. We’ve designed our programs for busy professionals, students, parents, and anyone willing to try. We meet you where you are.
Sustainability
We’re not interested in quick fixes. Our programs build lasting awareness habits you can integrate into your actual life — not techniques you’ll abandon in three months.
Our Journey
From a small meditation circle to a recognized training center across the Netherlands
How We Work
We’ve developed a structured methodology that guides people from complete beginners to sustained daily practice. Here’s how it unfolds
Foundation Building
We start with the absolute basics — what mindfulness actually is, how your attention works, and why meditation matters. Most people arrive with misconceptions. We clear those away first.
Guided Practice
You’ll learn breathing techniques, body awareness, and meditation fundamentals through direct instruction. We don’t just talk about it — you’re doing it from day one with experienced guidance.
Integration
We show you how to bring mindfulness into daily life — at work, with family, during difficult moments. That’s where the real value emerges. Meditation on a cushion is just the beginning.
Ongoing Support
You’re not left alone after your initial training. We offer continued sessions, group practice opportunities, and personal check-ins to help you maintain momentum and deepen your practice.
What We Actually Believe
These aren’t marketing statements. They’re the commitments that determine how we operate and who we are
Progress Over Perfection
Your meditation won’t be perfect. Your mind will wander. You’ll miss sessions. That’s completely normal. We celebrate consistency and effort, not some imaginary “ideal” practice.
Science Meets Tradition
Meditation’s been around for thousands of years. Modern neuroscience confirms it actually works. We respect both perspectives and teach you practices that’re backed by evidence.
Your Pace, Your Practice
There’s no competition in mindfulness. You’re not racing anyone. Our programs adapt to your schedule, your challenges, and your goals. Personalization matters to us.
“Ik was altijd bezig, altijd druk. Na drie weken met Aanwezigheid Mindfulness B.V. voelde ik voor het eerst in jaren dat ik echt aanwezig was met mijn kinderen. Het veranderde alles.”

Belangrijke Informatie
The information provided through our programs is intended for educational and wellness purposes. While mindfulness and meditation have been shown to support overall wellbeing and present moment awareness, individual results vary based on personal practice, commitment, and life circumstances. Our training doesn’t replace professional mental health treatment. If you’re experiencing significant anxiety, depression, or other mental health concerns, we encourage you to consult with qualified healthcare professionals. We’re here to support your mindfulness journey — as a complement to, not a substitute for, appropriate professional care.
